Proofreading
Being a writer often involves several rounds of revisions, which can lead to those minor typos and errors becoming practically invisible to you on your tenth read-through. That's where proofreading comes in!
Proofreading is the final stage of the editing process (after copyediting), focusing on identifying and correcting errors in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting.
When Is Proofreading Done?
Proofreading is done as the very last step in the editorial process.
Developmental or Structural Edit
Line or Stylistic Edit

Proofread
What's Included in a Proofread?
Each proofread comes with three files:
-
One file with track changes edits
-
One clean file with all edits accepted
-
A style sheet for spelling consistency
What issues does a proofread address?
Spelling mistakes and typos
Grammar and punctuation errors
Consistency in spelling and capitalization
Please note: The average professional proofreader can only guarantee about a 95% error catch rate. That means if there are 200 errors in your manuscript, the proofreader can guarantee to catch around 190 errors. Proofreading ensures your manuscript is as clean as humanly possible, but no proofreader can promise zero errors, as humans are not capable of a 100% error catch rate.
