Polish Your Query Package
This service is for authors who are entering the traditional publishing process and have put together a query package for agents.
For this service, you will need:

The first 20 book pages (5,000 words at the industry standard of ~250 words per page) cleaned up to the best of your ability

A completed query letter (400 words or less) cleaned up to the best of your ability
What's Involved?
This package will include two editorial stages:

Stage 1: Copyedits
You will submit your query letter & 20 sample pages to be copyedited (this must be done via Microsoft Word, as is industry standard)

Back to the Author
You will receive back your copyedited query letter & sample pages with in-line track changes, which you will then go through and approve or deny the revisions

Stage 2: Proofread
You will submit your query letter & 20 sample pages for a final proofread
What issues does a copyedit address?
Grammar and syntax
Correct capitalization
Correct tense (past, present, or future)
Correcting faulty parallelism
Spelling and punctuation
Correct use of dashes, commas, periods, exclamation marks, etc.
Correcting typos (beings > begins)
Language and spelling consistency
Consistency in dialect (US English, UK English, etc.)
